Welcome to the mid-season update for our £25,000 year-long game, UltimateGuru.
Six of the 12 events in the competition have now concluded, and points have been awarded for the UEFA Champions League.
Real Madrid, who were selected by just 1.2% of users, took home 100 points for their backers after defeating Liverpool in the final.
The Reds were the choice of 26.23%, and bagged 60 points for their supporters.
Beaten semi-finalists Manchester City (38.34%) and Villarreal (included as part of The Field, 0%) both get 30 points apiece.
Prior to the European showdown, both the Premier League and Europa League were also recently settled.
In the latter, it was ‘The Field‘ that reigned supreme again, with both finalists (Rangers and Frankfurt) being included in this section. The 1.3% of users that covered that option are 100 points better off.
Semi-finalists West Ham (3.2%) and Leipzig (1.3%) both received 30 points.
In the Premier League, the overwhelming bankers of UltimateGuru, Manchester City (backed by 96.5% of you) eventually got over the line for 100 points.
Liverpool (2.9%) pushed them hard but took home another 60 points for their runner-up effort. Chelsea (0.5%) got 30 points for third.
Tight at the top
We have a four-way tie at the top of the leaderboard.
The users bigmig, Fisher2243, mrflipflop and Stats23 all share first place with 430 points each. That’s a current prize split of £3,312.50 apiece.
But there’s still a lot to play for.
Only 100 points (the amount awarded for a correct prediction) separates the top 77 entries in the game.
With a further six events to go, starting with Wimbledon in July and ending with the football World Cup in December, it’s all to play for.
